Thanks to its phylogenetic proximity to humans, the cynomolgus macaque is an outstanding model to develop pre-clinical studies and investigate human pathologies.
The proposed research will have two main objectives:
1-To define the immune variation of the cynomolgus macaque at a genome wide level.
2-To combine mRNA sequencing and functional genomics to identify the genetic factors of the host that are involved in pathogen clearance.
To this end, we will compare data from cynomolgus macaque models of viral infections such as Influenza virus and Simian Immunodeficiency Virus (SIV).
