Using bioresources from large European epidemiological studies, SIREN addresses critical missing links between signatures of environmental/lifestyle exposure and occurrence/prognosis of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Comprehensive characterization of genetic, epigenetic and transcriptional tumour alterations will be correlated to pathological and clinical characteristics, established risk factors (tobacco, overweight, hypertension, germline polymorphisms), as well as more controversial factors such as aristolochic acid, trichloroethylene and vitamin B6.
